Rimbey Medical Clinic is committed to providing full-service family medicine
Our goal is to establish relationships with our patients, taking care of you through all of your healthcare events and needs. We strive to be your medical home, quarterbacking your care; whether that be with other members of the healthcare team, including nurses, pharmacists, dieticians, psychologists and other therapists; or referring you to a specialist physician or for tests and investigations.
Due to COVID-19 the Rimbey Medical Clinic is offering phone appointments. We strongly encourage that if your concerns can be addressed over the phone (ex. prescription renewals, results) that you request this appointment type. Phone call appointments will be scheduled for 10 minutes. Your doctor will call you at the approximate time of your scheduled appointment but please be aware that they could be running ahead or behind schedule. The call may show up on your call display as a private caller so please answer any calls around the time of your scheduled appointment as it may be your doctor trying to reach you.
We are still offering some in person appointments as well for everything that cannot be addressed over the phone. Please do not come into the clinic if:
- You have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat and/or runny nose
- You have travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days
- You have had close contact with someone who has a probable of confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days
If any of these apply the recommendation is that patients immediately self-isolate for 14 days. If you believe you may have COVID-19 call 811 to get tested. The latest information about COVID-19 and government recommendations can be found at:
The Rimbey Hospital Lab now requires you to book an appointment to get bloodwork done (x-rays do not require an appointment but it is recommended). To book an appointment you can call 1-833-572-0577 or online at www.aplappointments.ca . You are also welcome to contact the clinic for assistance in booking an appointment.
New Maternity (Pregnant) Patients
Rimbey Medical Clinic is committed to ensuring that local patients who are pregnant will be able to access prenatal care in our clinic. If you are pregnant and do not currently have a family doctor in our clinic, please contact the receptionist and inform them you are looking for a doctor to care for you in your pregnancy.
New Shared Obstetrics Care
Our clinic now has a shared obstetrical group. Maternity patients will see their family doctor until 20 weeks gestation. They will then see the obstetrical doctor on call that week for their maternity visit. For the remainder of their pregnancy including delivery, patients will recieve obstetrical care from the doctor that is scheduled to be on call that week. Folllowing delivery, patients will have their 1 week and 6 week follow up with the delivering doctor and then will resume seeing their family doctor after that is complete.
Riverland Hearing is booking appointments for hearing tests in our PCN building twice a month. Please call their Red Deer office at 403-346-3939 to book an appointment.
Rimbey Medical Clinic does not provide walk-in clinic services
We are unable to see patients who do not have a family doctor in our clinic.
Multidisciplinary PCN Building
We are continually adding members to our patient care team to improve the overall well-being of our patients. In order to accomodate this we have needed to open a new location, across the street at 4817- 51 St. Patients who have appointments with the psychologist and dietician will be seen in this building. Please check-in at the main clinic building prior to your appointment.
Foot Care Technician
Rachel Murray is here one day a week to assist patients with their foot health. Please ask your doctor if this free service is appropriate for you.
